My name is Sander Smit and I work as an independent Business Designer under the name BM-Change. I founded BM-Change in 2012 after working in ICT for 13 years. In 2015 I settled with BM-Change in the Videolab at Strijp-S, the center of design and technology.
Since 1995 I have been working on technology driven innovation projects. First as a software engineer, later as project manager and innovation consultant. I have worked in various domains, such as consumer electronics, media & telecom, mobility, smart cities, water management, and lately many projects related to the energy transition.
In 2006, by chance, I became involved in the creation of Alexander Osterwalder’s book “Business Model Generation”. This is where it all started to come together for me. I wanted to work on the value creation side of innovation, where people, organization, and technology come together. Since then, I have specialized myself in the design and validation of business models. I apply my knowledge in European research and innovation projects and with entrepreneurs and organizations that want to stay relevant in this fast changing world.
