In the past three years BM-Change partnered in the Waternomics project. In this EU-funded project, a consortium of three Universities, an Italian airport, a Greece municipality and four SME’s researched how smart water systems could help households and businesses with managing drinking water more efficiently. The goal of BM-Change was to help maximising the economic impact of the project. With the creation of spin-off company iSensit, plans for a joint venture in Southern Europe and collaboration with Simaxx, a Dutch Smart Building platform provider, this mission has been accomplished. Waternomics Water Value Map
The starting point for developing any water conservation strategy should be a shared understanding of water usage and water related activities. Before starting one should ask itself three basic questions:
1. Why do I use water?:

Binnen het Waternomics project wordt onderzocht hoe slimme water technologie, bedrijven en huishoudens kan helpen om efficiënter met drinkwater om te gaan. In zo’n technisch georiënteerd project is het van belang om de uiteindelijke gebruiker van een water informatiesysteem niet uit het oog te verliezen. Om de ontwikkelaars van slimme water applicaties te helpen hebben we een korte animatie gemaakt waarin de business context van één van de vier proefomgevingen duidelijk gemaakt wordt. Dit is een eerste stap naar het ontwikkelen van waardeproposities op basis van de technische resultaten van het Waternomics project.
